:: Opening To The Savage Wilds ::
This world is unbounded with lands beyond counting across its ever blue horizons, and so vast is it that some distant shores have yet to be counted at all.
Far from the world's shipping routes is a northward passage never traveled for trade. A route Treacherous for stormy skies, unpredictable winds, and compass bearings wavering off true north towards spires of iron rock that dot the sea. The imprisonments and executions of ages past have fallen slowly out of favor, and a custom has arisen to dispose of society's unwanted member through exile north. By forced labor they build ships of their own making, but few sail the passage on more than rafts and flotsam; that is at least, before recently. There is a buzz of rumors of survival and land somewhere beyond the spires where "savage wilds" remain untapped and interest has risen... along with an increase in exile over petty crime. A scarce few made the journey safely, but along them a lucky few made it all the way to land- before the treacherous currents dashed their ships along the rocks.
When the first wave of exiles awakens on their new home they will find that they may not be alone... But locked on their wrists are bracelets of gold that bind them to their new home. Beside them lay races, cultures, religions, and even species never known to them, but if they can't find shelter soon this land may claim them first.
:: Sources Drawn From ::
The Conan Lore isn't the only source that players can draw from for inspiration when creating their characters. The Forgotten Realms & The Elder Scrolls can also be perfectly valid sources, as well as plenty of other medieval settings so long as they are; 1: connected to the ocean, 2: can feasibly mesh with sword and sorcery settings like Conan, with a little handwaving on the finer details.
Custom settings are fine too! If you're uncertain, just ask!
